Having an unreliable lift in any building is an inconvenience for all of its residents and visitors and, for a care home, it has the potential of being more than just inconvenient.
This was the case for a care home in Lincolnshire that had been experiencing ongoing problems with their long-serving hydraulic lift. The reliability issues were causing concerns for both the care home management and the residents, which resulted in the lift being taken out of service.
Hydratec was approached by the care home’s lift service provider to discuss options for a Hydratec smart™ hydraulic modernisation. The hydraulic system proposed was the Hydratec smart™ modular solution utilising a Bucher hydraulic valve and a Lester Controls custom-built Almega II control system.
Budget costs were agreed and Hydratec commenced urgently with the Hydratec smart™ manufacturing process. With all of the Hydratec smart™ modules having been manufactured and the main unit assembled, onsite work commenced. Hydratec engineers completed, tested and reinstated the lift to full service all within a week, receiving compliments from both the care home’s management and the residents.
